Pension Wise

Since 6 April, pensions have changed giving you more freedom to choose what to do with your pension pot.

Once you turn 55, you will have the option to access your pension pot in different ways, including getting a guaranteed income, taking your money flexibly or taking your whole pension as cash.

Pension Wise is a new government service that will help you go through your options so you can make informed and confident decisions that are best for you and your family. It is not regulated financial advice – it provides impartial guidance and does not recommend products or providers.

You can get information and guidance online at www.pensionwise.gov.uk. You can also book an appointment with a guidance specialist on the phone or face to face. A Pension Wise appointment may help you if you:

· Are 50 or over

· Have a defined contribution pension

Citizens Advice is providing face to face Pension Wise guidance from over 500 locations across England and Wales.

Worcester Citizens Advice Bureau and WHABAC will be offering appointments from Worcester, Bromsgrove, Malvern, Kidderminster, Hereford, Leominster, Cheltenham and Gloucester. To book an appointment, call a national contact centre on 0300 330 1001, call us direct on 01905 721892 or call at your local Citizens Advice Bureau and request a Pension Wise appointment.’
