General Advice
Our team of volunteer advisers are trained to offer you advice by face to face interviews or over the telephone. There are a number of different ways advisers can help with your problem. Advisers don’t tell you what to do, but explain your options and the possible outcomes of different courses of action.
We offer advice information on the following areas:
- Consumer problems
- Debt
- Discrimination and harassment
- Employment
- Family and relationships
- Housing and Homelessness
- Illness and disability
- Immigration
- Legal matters
- Welfare benefits
(and much more)
Practical ways we can assist you:
- Help you to negotiate with companies or service providers
- Write letters or phone companies and service providers on your behalf
- Help you with form filling, for example, to claim for benefits
- Refer you to CAB specialist caseworkers for complex problems or to other agencies when appropriate.
